Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, appointed Dr. Fr. Taiju Thaliath CMI as the Rector of the St. Charles Lwanga Seminary in Windhoek, Namibia.Fr. Taiju was born in Kerala, India in 1974.
He is a Missiologist, having obtained a Doctorate in this area from the Pontifical Urban University of Rome on the topic: The Spirit of Life in the Mission of the Church: A Critical Study in Light of 2012 WCC Document – ‘Together Towards Life’.Fr. Taiju is not new in the Namibia Ecclesiastical Scene. He has been working at the St. Charles Lwanga Seminary as Formator and Lecturer in Missiology and Dogmatic Theology since 2017.
