സഭയാകുന്ന തന്റെ ശരീരത്തെപ്രതി മിശിഹായ്ക്ക് സഹിക്കേണ്ടിവന്ന പീഡകളുടെ കുറവ്‌ എന്റെ ശരീരത്തില്‍ ഞാന്‍ നികത്തുന്നു. നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടി ദൈവം എന്നെ ഭരമേല്‍പിച്ച ദൗത്യംവഴി ഞാന്‍ സഭയിലെ ശുശ്രൂഷകനായി. ദൈവവചനം പൂര്‍ണമായി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുക എന്നതായിരുന്നു ആ ദൗത്യം. യുഗങ്ങളുടെയും തലമുറകളുടെയും ആരംഭം മുതല്‍ മറച്ചുവയ്‌ക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ഈ രഹസ്യം ഇപ്പോള്‍ അവിടുന്നു തന്റെ വിശുദ്‌ധര്‍ക്കുവെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഈ രഹസ്യത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വം വിജാതീയരുടെയിടയില്‍ എത്ര ശ്രേഷ്‌ഠമാണെന്ന്‌ വിശുദ്‌ധര്‍ക്കു വ്യക്‌തമാക്കിക്കൊടുക്കാന്‍ അവിടുന്നു തീരുമാനിച്ചു.
ഈ രഹസ്യമാകട്ടെ മഹത്വത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രത്യാശയായ മിശിഹാ നിങ്ങളിലുണ്ട്‌ എന്നതുതന്നെ.അവനെയാണ്‌ ഞങ്ങള്‍ പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നത്‌. എല്ലാ മനുഷ്യരെയും മിശിഹായിൽ പക്വത പ്രാപിച്ചവരാക്കാന്‍വേണ്ടി ഞങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാവര്‍ക്കും മുന്നറിയിപ്പു നല്‍കുകയും എല്ലാവരെയും സര്‍വവിജ്‌ഞാനവും പഠിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.ഈ ലക്‌ഷ്യം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നതിനു വേണ്ടിയത്ര, അവന്‍ എന്നില്‍ ശക്‌തിയായി ഉണര്‍ത്തുന്ന ശക്‌തികൊണ്ടു ഞാന്‍ കഠിനമായി അധ്വാനിക്കുന്നത്‌.
സുവിശേഷം യോഹ 5 : 31-36
വിശുദ്ധ യോഹന്നാന്‍ അറിയിച്ച നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവീശോമിശിഹായുടെ പരിശുദ്ധ സുവിശേഷംഞാന്‍ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുതന്നെ സാക്‌ഷ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നെങ്കില്‍ എന്റെ സാക്‌ഷ്യം സത്യമല്ല. എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്‌ഷ്യം നല്‍കുന്ന വേറൊരാളുണ്ട്‌. എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അവന്റെ സാക്‌ഷ്യം സത്യമാണെന്ന്‌ എനിക്കറിയാം. നിങ്ങള്‍ യോഹന്നാന്റെ അടുത്തേക്ക്‌ ആളയച്ചു. അവന്‍ സത്യത്തിനു സാക്‌ഷ്യം നല്‍കുകയും ചെയ്‌തു. ഞാന്‍ മനുഷ്യരുടെ സാക്‌ഷ്യം സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വിചാരിക്കേണ്ടാ; നിങ്ങള്‍ രക്‌ഷിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ടതിനാണ്‌ ഞാന്‍ ഇതെല്ലാം പറയുന്നത്‌. എന്നാല്‍, യോഹന്നാന്റേതിനെക്കാള്‍ വലിയ സാക്‌ഷ്യം എനിക്കുണ്ട്‌. എന്തെന്നാല്‍, ഞാന്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കാനായി പിതാവ്‌ എന്നെ ഏല്‍പി ച്ചജോലികള്‍ – ഞാന്‍ ചെയ്‌തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ജോലികള്‍തന്നെ – പിതാവാണ്‌ എന്നെ അയച്ചതെന്നു സാക്‌ഷ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.

Epistle Col 1,24-29A Reading from the Letter of St Paul to the Colossians Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ on behalf of his body, which is the church, of which I am a minister in accordance with God’s stewardship given to me to bring to completion for you the word of God, the mystery hidden from ages and from generations past. But now it has been manifested to his holy ones, to whom God chose to make known the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; it is Christ in you, the hope for glory. It is he whom we proclaim, admonishing everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. For this I labor and struggle, in accord with the exercise of his power working within me.
Gospel of the Day Jn 5,31-36
The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, proclaimed by St.John“If I testify on my own behalf, my testimony cannot be verified. But there is another who testifies on my behalf, and I know that the testimony he gives on my behalf is true. You sent emissaries to John, and he testified to the truth. I do not accept testimony from a human being, but I say this so that you may be saved. He was a burning and shining lamp, and for a while, you were content to rejoice in his light. But I have testimony greater than John’s. The works that the Father gave me to accomplish, these works that I perform testify on my behalf that the Father has sent me.
