Vatican: Pope Francis has approved the beautiful logo of the Pro-Life Apostolate of the Syro-Malabar Church. Sabu Jose, Executive Secretary of the Family, Light and Life Commission, had the opportunity to have a drink with Pope Francis when he went to the cardinal ordination of Cardinal George Jacob Kuvakkad as a representative of the Cardinal.
Cardinal George Jacob introduced. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you: before you were born I sanctified you…” He said, “It is good and joyful to see the scripture Jeremiah 1:5 in the logo.” Along with the scripture, there is also a picture of the mother holding the child affectionately to her bosom in multi-colored colors.
Following the model of the Vatican’s family-oriented dicastery, Cardinal Mar George Alencherry formed the Pro-Life Apostolate for the protection of life ministries in the Syro-Malabar Church. The first chairman of the commission was Mar Mathew Arakkal, later Mar Joseph Kallarangat, and now Mar George Mauthikandam. The special section of the Pro-Life Apostolate is in the hands of Mar Peter Kochupurakkal.
The recognition, encouragement and great joy received from the Pope for the Pro-Life ministries, which work with the goal of “Comprehensive protection of human life for the glory of God” Sabu Jose said that it also made him proud. Copies of the logo approved by the Holy Father were also submitted to the Vatican’s Department for the Family, the Laity and Life. He also said that many families from Kerala will participate in the World Meeting of Families to be held in the Vatican in May.
