Vatican, July 7 (TK KBS) – Pope Leo XIV has concluded the mandate of Archbishop Cyril Vasiľ in his mission in India.
“The Holy Father has brought to a close the mandate of His Excellency Cyril Vasiľ, SJ, Archbishop and Eparchial Bishop of Košice for Greek Catholics, in his role as Papal Delegate for liturgical matters in the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archeparchy of the Syro-Malabar Rite, and has expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the service he rendered,” states the press release from the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches, as reported by the Holy See Press Office.
Slovak Jesuit Archbishop Cyril Vasiľ, SJ, served for nearly two years as Papal Delegate with special authority for the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, focusing particularly on the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archeparchy, which had been facing a prolonged and serious liturgical dispute.
The conflict intensified after the Synod of this Eastern Catholic Church decided to implement a unified mode of celebrating the liturgy—a decision approved by Pope Francis.
Archbishop Vasiľ was appointed to lead dialogue with a group of priests and faithful who opposed the Synod’s conclusions. The decision to appoint a Papal Delegate arose from consultations between the bishops of the permanent Synod of the Syro-Malabar Church and Vatican officials, including the Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and the Prefect of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches, Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti.
ബൈസന്റൈൻ സഭയിലെ അംഗവും, കോസിച്ചേ അതിരൂപതാ മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്തായുമായ ആർച്ചുബിഷപ്പ് സിറിൽ വാസിലിനെ, ഫ്രാൻസിസ് പാപ്പാ, പൗരസ്ത്യ സഭകളിൽ ഏറെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട സീറോമലബാർ സഭയിലെ എറണാകുളം അങ്കമാലി അതിരൂപതയിൽ ഉണ്ടായ ആരാധനക്രമം സംബന്ധിച്ച പ്രശ്നങ്ങളിന്മേൽ, പൊന്തിഫിക്കൽ പ്രതിനിധിയായി നിയമിച്ചിരുന്നു.
തുടർന്നു 2025 ജൂലൈ മാസം ഏഴാം തീയതി, ലിയോ പതിനാലാമൻ പാപ്പാ ആർച്ചുബിഷപിന്റെ സേവനം പൂർത്തിയാക്കി ചുമതലയിൽ നിന്നും സ്വതന്ത്രമാക്കി. ആർച്ചുബിഷപ്പ് തന്റെ സേവന കാലയളവിൽ ചെയ്ത എല്ലാ സേവനങ്ങൾക്കും പാപ്പാ അഗാധമായ നന്ദി പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇത് സംബന്ധിച്ച വിവരങ്ങൾ, പൗരസ്ത്യ സഭകൾക്കായുള്ള ഡിക്കസ്റ്ററിയാണ് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചത്.
സ്ലൊവാക്യക്കാരനായ ആർച്ച്ബിഷപ്പ് സിറിൽ വാസിൽ ഈശോസഭാംഗമാണ്. 2007-2009 വരെ റോമിലെ പൊന്തിഫിക്കൽ ഓറിയെൻറൽ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ടിൻറെ മേധാവിയും അഥവാ, റെക്ടറും 2009-2020 പൗരസത്യസഭകൾക്കായുള്ള സംഘത്തിൻറെ കാര്യദർശിയും ആയിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹം ഇപ്പോൾ സ്ലൊവാക്യയിലെ കോസിച്ചേ അതിരൂപതയുടെ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷനാണ്.
തൻറെ സേവന കാലയളവിൽ വിവിധ തവണ അദ്ദേഹം എറണാകുളം അങ്കമാലി അതിരൂപതയിൽ എത്തുകയും, വൈദികരും ദൈവജനവുമായി സംവദിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. സീറോ മലബാർ സഭയിലെ സിനഡ് പിതാക്കന്മാരുമായും അദ്ദേഹം കൂടിക്കാഴ്ച്ച നടത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

സീറോ മലബാർ സഭയിലെ പൊന്തിഫിക്കൽ ഡെലിഗേറ്റ് ആർച്ചുബിഷപ്പ് സിറിൽ വാസിൽ മഹനീയ സേവനം പൂർത്തിയാക്കി മടങ്ങുമ്പോൾ വിശ്വാസികൾ നന്ദിയോടെ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ സ്‌മരിക്കുന്നു .അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‌ എറണാകുളം സെന്റ്‌ മേരിസ് ബസലിക്കയിൽ ഉണ്ടായ ദുരനുഭവം സഭയുടെ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ വേദനിപ്പിച്ച സംഭവമായിരുന്നു .
പിതാവേ , ക്ഷമിക്കണേ .ഒരിക്കലും സംഭവിക്കാൻ പാടില്ലാത്തത് സംഭവിച്ചതിൽ ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു .ക്ഷമിക്കുവാൻ ,മറക്കുവാൻ ,പൊറുക്കുവാൻ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു .
