26.ആറാം മാസത്തിൽ ഗ്ലീ ലായിലെ നസ്റസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള പട്ടണത്തിൽ .

27. ദാവീദിൻ്റെ ഗോത്രത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട യൗസേപ്പ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള പുരുഷനുമായി വിവാഹം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ഒരു കന്യകയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്ക് ദൈവം ഗ(വിയേൽ മാലാകായെ അയച്ചു. ആ കന്യകയുടെ പേര് മറിയം എന്നായിരുന്നു.

28. മാലാകാ അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു പറഞ്ഞു: ” നൻമ നിറഞ്ഞവളെ,നിനക്കു സ്വസ്തി ! സ്ത്രീകളിൽ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവളെ, കർത്താവ് നിന്നോടു കൂടെ (ഉണ്ട് ).

29. അവൾ അവനെ കണ്ടു, അവൻ്റെ വാക്കുമൂലം അസ്വസ്ഥയായി ഇത് എന്ത് അവിഭാദനം എന്ന് അവൾ വിചാരിച്ചു.

30. മാലാകാ അവളോടു പറഞ്ഞു: ‘മറിയമേ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ട. ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ നീ കൃപ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു .

33. അവൻ്റെ രാജ്യത്തിന് അതിർത്തിയുണ്ടായിരിക്കുകയില്ല.

34 മറിയം മാലാകായോടു ചോദിച്ചു: “ഞാൻ പുരുഷനെ അറിയാത്തതിനാൽ ഇതെങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കും?

35. മാലാകാ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു: “പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു വരും അത്യുന്നതന്റെ ശക്തി നിൻ്റെ മേൽ ആവസിക്കും .അതിനാൽ നിന്നിൽ നിന്നു പിറക്കുന്നവൻ പരിശുദ്ധനാണ്. ദൈവത്തിൻ്റെ പുത്രൻ എന്ന് അവൻ വിളിക്കപ്പെടും” .

36. ഇതാ! നിൻ്റെ ചാർച്ചക്കാരിയായ ഏലീശ് വാ തന്നെയും അവളുടെ

വാർദ്ധക്യത്തിൽ ഒരു പുത്രനെ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന. വന്ധ്യയെന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന അവൾക്കു ഇത് ആറാം മാസമാണ്.

ഉല്‍പ 3:8-24

ഉല്‍പത്തി പുസ്തകത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വായന

വെയിലാറിയപ്പോള്‍ ദൈവമായ കര്‍ത്താവു തോട്ടത്തില്‍ ഉലാത്തുന്നതിന്റെ ശബ്‌ദം അവര്‍ കേട്ടു. പുരുഷനും ഭാര്യയും അവിടുത്തെ മുമ്പില്‍നിന്നു മാറി, തോട്ടത്തിലെ മരങ്ങള്‍ക്കിടയിലൊളിച്ചു.

അവിടുന്നു പുരുഷനെ വിളിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചു: നീ എവിടെയാണ്‌?

അവന്‍ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു: തോട്ടത്തില്‍ അവിടുത്തെ ശബ്‌ദം ഞാന്‍ കേട്ടു. ഞാന്‍ നഗ്നനായതുകൊണ്ടു ഭയന്ന്‌ ഒളിച്ചതാണ്‌. അവിടുന്നു ചോദിച്ചു: നീ നഗ്‌നനാണെന്നു നിന്നോടാരു പറഞ്ഞു? തിന്നരുതെന്ന്‌ ഞാന്‍ കല്‍പിച്ചവൃക്‌ഷത്തിന്റെ പഴം നീ തിന്നോ?

അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു: അങ്ങ്‌ എനിക്കു കൂട്ടിനു തന്ന സ്‌ത്രീ ആ മരത്തിന്റെ പഴം എനിക്കു തന്നു; ഞാന്‍ അതു തിന്നു. ദൈവമായ കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ സ്‌ത്രീയോടു ചോദിച്ചു: നീ എന്താണ്‌ ഈ ചെയ്‌തത്‌? അവള്‍ പറഞ്ഞു: സര്‍പ്പം എന്നെ വഞ്ചിച്ചു; ഞാന്‍ പഴം തിന്നു. ദൈവമായ കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ സര്‍പ്പത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞു: ഇതുചെയ്‌തതുകൊണ്ട്‌ നീ എല്ലാ കന്നുകാലികളുടെയും വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളുടെയുമിടയില്‍ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടതായിരിക്കും. നീ മണ്ണില്‍ ഇഴഞ്ഞു നടക്കും. ജീവിതകാലം മുഴുവന്‍ നീ പൊടി തിന്നും. നീയും സ്‌ത്രീയും തമ്മിലും നിന്റെ സന്തതിയും അവളുടെ സന്തതിയും തമ്മിലും ഞാന്‍ ശത്രുത ഉളവാക്കും. അവന്‍ നിന്റെ തല തകര്‍ക്കും. നീ അവന്റെ കുതികാലില്‍ പരിക്കേല്‍പിക്കും.

അവിടുന്നു സ്‌ത്രീയോടു പറഞ്ഞു: നിന്റെ ഗര്‍ഭാരിഷ്‌ടതകള്‍ ഞാന്‍ വര്‍ധിപ്പിക്കും. നീ വേദനയോടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെപ്രസവിക്കും. എങ്കിലും, നിനക്കു ഭര്‍ത്താവില്‍ അഭിലാഷമുണ്ടായിരിക്കും. അവന്‍ നിന്നെ ഭരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

ആദത്തോട്‌ അവിടുന്നു പറഞ്ഞു: തിന്നരുതെന്നു ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞപഴം സ്‌ത്രീയുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു നീ തിന്നതുകൊണ്ട്‌ നീ മൂലം മണ്ണു ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടതായിരിക്കും. ആയുഷ്‌കാലം മുഴുവന്‍ കഠിനാധ്വാനംകൊണ്ട്‌ നീ അതില്‍നിന്നു കാലയാപനം ചെയ്യും. അതു മുള്ളും മുള്‍ച്ചെടികളും നിനക്കായി മുളപ്പിക്കും. വയലിലെ സസ്യങ്ങള്‍ നീ ഭക്‌ഷിക്കും.

മണ്ണില്‍നിന്ന്‌ എടുക്കപ്പെട്ട നീ, മണ്ണിനോടു ചേരുന്നതുവരെ, നെറ്റിയിലെ വിയര്‍പ്പുകൊണ്ടു ഭക്‌ഷണം സമ്പാദിക്കും. നീ പൊടിയാണ്‌, പൊടിയിലേക്കുതന്നെ നീ മടങ്ങും.

ആദം ഭാര്യയെ ഹവ്വാ എന്നു വിളിച്ചു. കാരണം, അവള്‍ ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെയെല്ലാം മാതാവാണ്‌. ദൈവമായ കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ തോലുകൊണ്ട്‌ ഉടയാടയുണ്ടാക്കി ആദത്തെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെയും ധരിപ്പിച്ചു.

അനന്തരം അവിടുന്നു പറഞ്ഞു: മനുഷ്യനിതാ നന്‍മയും തിന്‍മയും അറിഞ്ഞു നമ്മിലൊരുവനെപ്പോലെയായിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇനി അവന്‍ കൈനീട്ടി ജീവന്റെ വൃക്‌ഷത്തില്‍നിന്നുകൂടി പറിച്ചു തിന്ന്‌ അമര്‍ത്യനാകാന്‍ ഇടയാകരുത്‌.

കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ അവരെ ഏദന്‍ തോട്ടത്തില്‍നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി; മണ്ണില്‍നിന്നെ ടുത്ത മനുഷ്യനെ മണ്ണിനോടു മല്ലിടാന്‍ വിട്ടു.

മനുഷ്യനെ പുറത്താക്കിയശേഷം ജീവന്റെ വൃക്‌ഷത്തിങ്കലേക്കുള്ള വഴി കാക്കാന്‍ ഏദന്‍തോട്ടത്തിനു കിഴക്ക്‌ അവിടുന്നു കെരൂബുകളെ കാവല്‍ നിര്‍ത്തി; എല്ലാ വശത്തേക്കും കറങ്ങുന്നതും തീ ജ്വലിക്കുന്നതുമായ ഒരു വാളും അവിടുന്നു സ്‌ഥാപിച്ചു.

ജറെ 33:14-26

ജറെമിയാ പ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വായന

ഇസ്രായേല്‍ ഗോത്രത്തോടും യൂദാഗോത്രത്തോടും ഞാന്‍ ചെയ്‌ത വാഗ്‌ദാനം നിറവേറ്റുന്ന ദിവസം ഇതാ, സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു – കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

ആ നാളില്‍ ആ സമയത്ത്‌, ദാവീദിന്റെ ഭവനത്തില്‍നിന്നു നീതിമാനായ ഒരു മുളയെ ഞാന്‍ കിളിര്‍പ്പിക്കും; അവന്‍ ദേശത്തു നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തും.

അപ്പോള്‍ യൂദാ രക്‌ഷിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ജറുസലെം ഭദ്രമായിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. നമ്മുടെ നീതി കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ എന്ന്‌ വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.

കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിലിരിക്കാന്‍ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സന്തതി എന്നുമുണ്ടായിരിക്കും.

എന്റെ സന്നിധിയില്‍ ദഹന ബലിയും ധാന്യബലിയും അനുദിനബലികളും അര്‍പ്പിക്കാന്‍ ലേവ്യപുരോഹിതനും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും.

ജറെമിയായ്‌ക്കു കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായി.

കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: പകലും രാത്രിയും ഇല്ലാതാകത്തക്കവിധം പകലിനോടും രാത്രിയോടും ഉള്ള എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിക്കാന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു കഴിയുമെങ്കില്‍ മാത്രമേ,

എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിനോടും എന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷ കരായ ലേവ്യരോടും ഉള്ള എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടിയും ലംഘിക്കപ്പെടുകയുള്ളു; അപ്പോള്‍ മാത്രമേ തന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിലിരുന്നു ഭരിക്കാന്‍ ദാവീദിന്‌ ഒരു സന്തതി ഇല്ലാതെ വരുകയുള്ളു.

ആകാശത്തിലെ നക്‌ഷത്രങ്ങള്‍ എണ്ണമറ്റവയും കടല്‍പ്പുറത്തെ മണല്‍ത്തരികള്‍ അളവില്ലാത്തവയും ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ സന്തതികളെയും എന്നെ ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കുന്ന ലേവ്യപുരോഹിതന്‍മാരെയും ഞാന്‍ വര്‍ധിപ്പിക്കും.

കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ ജറെമിയായോട്‌ അരുളിച്ചെയ്‌തു: താന്‍ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ഇരുഭവനങ്ങളെയും കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ പരിത്യജിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന്‌ ഈ ജനതകള്‍ പറയുന്നതു നീ കേള്‍ക്കുന്നില്ലേ? അവര്‍ എന്റെ ജനത്തെ അവഹേളിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ജനത്തെ ഒരു ജനതയായി അവര്‍ പരിഗണിക്കുന്നതേയില്ല.

കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാന്‍ പകലിനോടും രാത്രിയോടും ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്‌തിട്ടില്ലെങ്കില്‍, ആകാശത്തിനും ഭൂമിക്കും നിയമം നല്‍കിയിട്ടില്ലെങ്കില്‍ മാത്രമേ

അബ്രാഹത്തിന്റെയും ഇസഹാക്കിന്റെയും യാക്കോബിന്റെയും സന്തതികളെ ഭരിക്കാന്‍ യാക്കോബിന്റെയും എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്റെയും സന്തതിയെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാതെ ഉപേക്‌ഷിക്കുകയുള്ളു. ഞാന്‍ അവര്‍ക്കു വീണ്ടും ഐശ്വര്യം നല്‍കുകയും അവരുടെമേല്‍ കരുണ ചൊരിയുകയും ചെയ്യും.

സിംഹാസനസ്‌ഥന്റെ വലത്തുകൈയില്‍, അകത്തും പുറത്തും എഴുതപ്പെട്ടതും സപ്‌തമുദ്രകള്‍ പതിച്ചതുമായ ഒരു പുസ്‌ത കച്ചുരുള്‍ ഞാന്‍ കണ്ടു. ശക്‌തനായ ഒരു ദൂതനെയും ഞാന്‍ കണ്ടു. അവന്‍ ഉച്ചസ്വരത്തില്‍ വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു: ഈ ചുരുള്‍ നിവര്‍ത്താനും അതിന്റെ മുദ്രകള്‍ പൊട്ടിക്കാനും അര്‍ഹതയുള്ള ആരുണ്ട്‌? എന്നാല്‍, സ്വര്‍ഗത്തിലോ ഭൂമിയിലോ ഭൂമിക്കടിയിലോ ഉള്ള ആര്‍ക്കും ഈ ചുരുള്‍ നിവര്‍ത്താനോ അതി ലേക്കു നോക്കാനോ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. ചുരുള്‍ നിവര്‍ത്താനോ അതിലേക്കു നോക്കാനോ യോഗ്യനായി ആരെയും കണ്ടെത്താഞ്ഞതിനാല്‍ ഞാന്‍ വളരെയേറെക്കരഞ്ഞു.

അപ്പോള്‍ ശ്രേഷ്‌ഠന്‍മാരിലൊരാള്‍ എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു: കരയാതിരിക്കൂ; ഇതാ, യൂദാവംശത്തില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള സിംഹവും ദാവീദിന്റെ വേരും ആയവന്‍ വിജയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അവനു ചുരുള്‍ നിവര്‍ത്താനും സപ്‌തമുദ്രകള്‍ പൊട്ടിക്കാനും കഴിയും.

ലൂക്കാ 1:26-38

വിശുദ്ധ ലൂക്കാ അറിയിച്ച നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവീശോമിശിഹായുടെ പരിശുദ്ധ സുവിശേഷം

ആറാംമാസം ഗബ്രിയേല്‍ ദൂതന്‍ ഗലീലിയില്‍ നസറത്ത്‌ എന്ന പട്ടണത്തില്‍,

ദാവീദിന്റെ വംശത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ട ജോസഫ്‌ എന്നുപേരായ പുരുഷനുമായി വിവാഹനിശ്‌ചയം ചെയ്‌തിരുന്ന കന്യകയുടെ അടുത്തേക്ക്‌, ദൈവത്താല്‍ അയയ്‌ക്കപ്പെട്ടു. അവളുടെ പേര്‌ മറിയം എന്നായിരുന്നു.

ദൂതന്‍ അവ ളുടെ അടുത്തുവന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ദൈവകൃപ നിറഞ്ഞവളേ! സ്വസ്‌തി, കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ! ഈ വചനം കേട്ട്‌ അവള്‍ വളരെ അസ്വസ്‌ഥയായി; എന്താണ്‌ ഈ അഭിവാദനത്തിന്റെ അര്‍ഥം എന്ന്‌ അവള്‍ ചിന്തിച്ചു. ദൂതന്‍ അവളോടു പറഞ്ഞു: മറിയമേ, നീ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ദൈവസന്നിധിയില്‍ നീ കൃപ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

മറിയം ദൂതനോടു പറഞ്ഞു: ഇതെങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കും? ഞാന്‍ പുരുഷനെ അറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

ദൂതന്‍ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു: പരിശുദ്‌ധാത്‌മാവ്‌ നിന്റെ മേല്‍ വരും; അത്യുന്നതന്റെ ശക്‌തി നിന്റെ മേല്‍ ആവസിക്കും. ആകയാല്‍, ജനിക്കാന്‍ പോകുന്ന ശിശു പരിശുദ്‌ധന്‍, ദൈവപുത്രന്‍ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും. ഇതാ, നിന്റെ ചാര്‍ച്ചക്കാരി വൃദ്‌ധയായ എലിസബത്തും ഒരു പുത്രനെ ഗര്‍ഭം ധരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. വന്‌ധ്യയെന്നു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്ന അവള്‍ക്ക്‌ ഇത്‌ ആറാം മാസമാണ്‌.

When they heard the sound of the LORD God walking about in the garden at the breezy time of the day,* the man and his wife hid themselves from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. The LORD God then called to the man and asked him: Where are you? He answered, “I heard you in the garden; but I was afraid, because I was naked, so I hid.” Then God asked: Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I had forbidden you to eat? The man replied, “The woman whom you put here with me—she gave me fruit from the tree, so I ate it.” The LORD God then asked the woman: What is this you have done? The woman answered, “The snake tricked me, so I ate it.” Then the LORD God said to the snake: Because you have done this, cursed are you among all the animals, tame or wild; On your belly you shall crawl, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; They will strike at your head, while you strike at their heel. To the woman he said: I will intensify your toil in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Yet your urge shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you. The days are coming—oracle of the LORD—when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah. In those days, at that time, I will make a just shoot spring up for David; he shall do what is right and just in the land. In those days Judah shall be saved and Jerusalem shall dwell safely; this is the name they shall call her: “The LORD our justice.” For thus says the LORD: David shall never lack a successor on the throne of the house of Israel, nor shall the priests of Levi ever be lacking before me, to sacrifice burnt offerings, to burn cereal offerings, and to make sacrifices. This word of the LORD also came to Jeremiah:Thus says the LORD: If you can break my covenant with dayl and my covenant with night so that day and night no longer appear in their proper time, only then can my covenant with my servant David be broken, so that he will not have a descendant to act as king upon his throne, and my covenant with the priests of Levi who minister to me. Just as the host of heaven cannot be numbered and the sands of the sea cannot be counted, so I will multiply the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister to me. This word of the LORD came to Jeremiah: Have you not noticed what these people are saying: “The LORD has rejected the two tribes he had chosen”? They hold my people in contempt as if it were no longer a nation in their eyes. Thus says the LORD: If I have no covenant with day and night, if I did not establish statutes for heaven and earth, then I will also reject the descendants of Jacob and of David my servant, no longer selecting from his descendants rulers for the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Yes, I will restore their fortunes and show them mercy.

A Reading from the Book of the Revelations

I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who sat on the throne. It had writing on both sides and was sealed with seven seals. Then I saw a mighty angel who proclaimed in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to examine it. I shed many tears because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to examine it. One of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. The lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has triumphed, enabling him to open the scroll with its seven seals.”

In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth,

to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, “Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.” But she was greatly troubled at what was said and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus.

He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” But Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I have no relations with a man?” And the angel said to her in reply, “The holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. And behold, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren; for nothing will be impossible for God.” Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her.
